A GNU/Linux distribution focusing explicitly on DRM-free games:

As is always the case with all really good things, it is defined by the things it does not:
- No DRM
- No online
- No servers
- No updates
- No accounts
- No launchers
- No subscriptions
- No microtransactions

Unsurprisingly a lot of Linux players reactions seem to be variations around "It needs some Steam-like launcher", showing us once again how brainwashed they have been by all their years spent in Valve gilded cage.
@playit A bit surprised about the “When no cart is inserted” part. Sounds like saves are stored on the main drive rather than on the SD cards? As those are writable, I would've put the saves there to keep them with the games. But the project sounds interesting, I'll have a better look.

From what I understand, the SD cards are used as a read-only source of game data files (and binaries/libraries). Not writing anything on them is presented as a feature:

But said article does not say where it is quoting that from.
The cherry on top is that the cartridges are treated as read-only and save data is captured separately, keeping your games untouched and preserved forever. This quote comes from the following @gamingonlinux@mastodon.social article:
